  • Originally known for selling books (and going digital via its Kindle e-reader), Amazon has built up an empire offering millions of items for sale, competitive pricing and free shipping deals.

Amazon product lines include several media (books, DVDs, music CDs, videotapes, and software), apparel, baby products, consumer electronics, beauty products, gourmet food, groceries, health and personal-care items, industrial & scientific supplies, kitchen items, jewelry and watches, lawn and garden items, musical instruments, sporting goods, tools, automotive items and toys & game. Despite the variety of products and services, Amazon isn't exactly a complicated site - in fact very easy to use and make a purchase. Amazon also offers patented 1-Click ordering which allows online shoppers to simply click once to place orders without going through the checkout process.

    • Does Amazon ship to Australia?

Amazon Australia does, but the global site does not. Amazon announced Australians will not be allowed to order items on Amazon's US site (and its international sites) from July 1, 2018 on and will instead be redirected to its local site, Amazon.com.au. The change is in response to a new tax regulation effective from July 1 and requires businesses earning more than AUD 75,000 a year to charge Australia’s 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST) on low value items imported by consumers. However, you can still use forwarding companies to get your order from Amazon to be delivered indirectly. If the item you are looking for is available on Amazon AU site, you can benefit from Amazon's Australia postage options. Amazon also offers Prime membership in Australia.
